MINISTRY OF WELCOME
"For I was…a stranger and you welcomed me," Jesus Christ - Matthew 25:35

Also known as Ushers, Greeters, or Hospitality, our ministry is about being the face of Christ to all who enter. There are some who may be wary of coming to a church and it would take very little to make this visit their last. A kind word, a gentle smile, even body language can do much to put folks at ease.

Our ministry is to assist and to accommodate those who come to worship. We keep an atmosphere of calm and welcome, from responsibly handling collections to distributing worship aids. It is a joy and a privilege to serve Christ in this way. Families Welcome! This ministry is suitable for all ages! We encourage parents and guardians to pair up with their young ones, and serve together as a family.

Thinking of joining our ministry?
If looking after others gives you a sense of peace, then you are in the right place. We are always in need of new Welcome ministers at all of our weekend masses and special feasts.

Lectors

“The Lord has given me a well-trained tongue, that I may know how to speak to the weary a word that will rouse them.” - Isaiah 50:4

The ministry of a Lector is wonderful work and extremely rewarding. Ministers of the Word are entrusted with some of the most powerful stories that have been handed down to us from generation to generation; stories that God continues to speak through those called into the various ministries of the Church. To be a lector is to be given an opportunity for your own personal growth in Jesus. Lectors proclaim the Word of God. For most the Bible is not an easy read, especially if English is not the first language. A practiced and prayerful delivery can make a big difference in bringing God’s words to life for all present.

Families Welcome! This ministry welcomes strong readers of all ages! We encourage parents and guardians to pair up with their young ones, and serve together as a family.

If the words of the Bible bring you to life, then you are in the right place. We are always in need of new lectors at all of our weekend masses and special feasts.

Music Ministry

MUSIC MINISTRY
Music and song are a rich part of our faith tradition! We serve by uniting the congregation in song and by bringing beauty and solemnity to the celebration. Our goal is to choose music that is appropriate liturgically, artistically and pastorally in order to lead the community to experience the presence of God. Music is especially important for those who have difficulty connecting with others and God through mere words. The uniting of all our voices and talents is a true example of Christ’s body in action: all different parts, all unique, coming together as one beautiful sound.

Families Welcome! This ministry is suitable for all ages! We encourage parents and guardians to come with their families and serve together.

Liturgy Committee

Our Liturgy and Worship Committee serves the parish by offering a worship experience that is reverent, beautiful and joyful in the Lord. Our hope is to bring the parish community and others closer to God by nurturing active participation in the spirit-filled liturgies of the Church, especially the Mass. For our environment we start with plants, features from nature and more to create an atmosphere and environment that fosters prayer and reflects the church’s liturgical seasons and feasts, like Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and more. The committee includes persons from each of the liturgical ministries. From our ministers of welcome, to our liturgical environment, by working together we create something greater than the sum of its parts: a living example of Christ’s body in action.

Enjoy making a space come alive?
We are always in need of volunteers to helps us transform the environment of the church to reflect the feasts and seasons. No long term commitment necessary: volunteer whenever you can. Families welcome!
